"The worldwide team responsible for developing and managing NAB's enterprise digital platforms."
Over 70% of the bank's apps, including a whole digital platform that is utilised by over five million people, were moved to the cloud by the team during her time at NAB without experiencing any service interruptions. According to Dovico, "we were one of the world's strongest cloud adopters because of our aggressive strategy."
Significant enhancements were made to NAB's business digital platforms under her direction, including a 12-point rise in Net Promoter Score (NPS) after migration. "We were able to release features every two weeks, which improved speed to market, and our ratings in the iOS and Android app stores skyrocketed—iOS from 3.6 to 4.7, and Android from 3.0 to 4.7," Dovico says.
"NAB is one of the largest technology employers in the country," Dovico recalls, looking back on her tenure with the agency. We reskilled more than 500 women in and out of technology as the nation's first corporation to implement the She Builds program with AWS. I adore this because it's a positive feedback loop that encourages more women to overcome the perceived barrier to technology use.
"Employee satisfaction increased from 68 to 88, demonstrating her method of offering teams "meaningful work, great tech to work with, and involving them in building the business of the future."
The effort became a model for similar initiatives throughout the industry, and Dovico was the bank's chief supporter.
Dovico deals with comparable difficulties at Beyond Bank, albeit on a smaller scale and with more constrained funding. According to Dovico, "it starts with building strong technical foundations, enabling the right feedback loops, and strengthening internal capability." "I still feel tremendous pressure to deliver'sexy' customer features in digital, provide data-driven insights, and drive cost efficiencies, because this is such an important part of enabling our customers, our people, and our business."
Her emphasis on developing trust has been one of her main tactics. People frequently start with a "no" because they are unaware of the advantages or dangers, she clarified. I begin by recognising issues, after which I use analogies to make things more approachable and less technical.
Dovico highlights the value of diversity in her message to encourage more women in tech: "I think the best teams are truly diverse." It is crucial for me as a woman in technology to encourage other women to pursue this line of work.
